Service Committee – Serving Our Community

St. Peter’s congregation takes a very active role in participating in the Centretown Churches Social Action Committee (CCSAC) and serving our downtown community.

CCSAC’s  Second Walk-a-Thon, Oct 15th 2:00 pm:   Individuals and teams of families and friends of St. Peter’s will join with people from other downtown churches in raising funds for the Centretown Emergency Food Centre, 507 Bank Street, which St. Peter’s regularly supports through our monetary and food donations.  Due to damage from the spring flooding to the pathway below Parliament, this year’s route has been changed to the Queen Elizabeth pathway.  Participants may choose between a 1.5 and 3.5 km walk, starting and ending at Ottawa City Hall.

The Walk-a-thon Committee has been busy all summer organizing this event and will be making further announcements about the Walk in early September. In the meantime, we encourage members of St. Peter’s to think about forming different teams for the Walk-a-thon, e.g., the choir, Sunday School, etc. Pledge forms are available in the Parish Hall.  For more information, or to register by October 6, go to
