St. Peter’s Bookshelf

St. Peter’s bookshelf is an honour-system lending library of Christian resources for children and adults.  The collection includes printed and audio-visual materials.

Children’s resources include age appropriate Bibles and Bible stories, seasonal books for Christmas and Easter, books that address the ages and stages of growing up, and books to encourage spiritual development.  “Veggie Tales” and other DVDs are available, as well as music CDs.

Adult resources include Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries and works of reference, as well as books on a broad range of subjects such as Luther and Lutheranism, church history, theology, world religions, prayer and spiritual life.  A selection of biographies, novels, cookbooks and art books is also available.

Eternity for Today

Eternity for Today is a daily guide for Scripture reading, reflection and prayer.  Entries are written by Canadian contributors, based on the lessons for the season in the Revised Common Lectionary.  The booklet is published quarterly under the auspices of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC), and available to St. Peter’s members in the parish hall.

Canada Lutheran

The Canada Lutheran, published in eight issues per year, is the national magazine of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC).  The magazine’s mission is to engage in dynamic dialogue and share information, inspiration and ideas.  The Canada Lutheran is available in the parish hall.

ELCIC E-Communique

Eastern Synod Lutheran

The Eastern Synod Lutheran is an electronic newsletter from the Eastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC), posted on the Synod website:  http://www.easternsynod.org/newsletter.  St. Peter’s prints a copy of the current issue, available in the parish hall.
